Fill the tower one third of the way with soil and then water with 3 gallons of water, use a high-quality potting soil for this process. Repeat this step twice to fill the remaining two thirds of the garden tower. 6-7 cubic feet of soil will be needed to fill the entire tower. Then you can make holes in the pockets around the outside of the garden tower and plant your desired flowers and vegetables in them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eNow you’re ready to begin composting.\u003c\/strong\u003e Add food scraps for compost to the top of the garden tower. Avoid citrus, dairy, and meat food scraps because they will create an odor that could attract unwanted animals. Add some shredded newspaper or cardboard as carbon sources to your compost mixture once a week. Wait a week after your initial setup for those food scraps to breakdown before adding your worms, this way they have plenty of good food ready when they reach their new home.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe recommend adding around a half pound of red wiggler worms \u003cem\u003e(Approx. 500 worms)\u003c\/em\u003e to your garden tower.
