As the weather warms up and birds become more active, a little maintenance goes a long way in keeping your backyard visitors happy and healthy!
Seed that has been sitting too long can become moldy or stale, which can be harmful to birds. Empty everything out and dispose of it properly.
Give your bird feeder a good scrub with mild soap, water, and a soft cloth. A clean, dry feeder is essential for safe feeding. If you have a copper bird feeder, you can use a copper cleaner to renew the shine of the copper (just be sure to wash the feeder afterwards to remove any leftover chemicals). You can find a copper cleaner at your local hardware store. The natural patina of copper is also beautiful and perfectly safe. Copper has natural antimicrobial properties making it a great choice for bird feeders!

Look for cracks, loose parts, or wear that could affect how the feeder functions. Fix or replace any damaged components before putting it back into use. Feel free to give us a call or send us an email for questions on spare parts.
High-quality, fresh seed will attract more birds and provide them with the nutrition they need during the active summer months.
